Nursery business with a global perspective essential

Looking at Asia and other neighboring countries, I am keenly aware of how the Japanese childcare industry has fallen behind. Entrepreneurs engaged in early childhood education must create an environment to nurture a global mindset, in order to maximize each child's individuality and ability. Our company, which develops nursery schools and babysitting businesses mainly in Tokyo and Kanagawa, hope to continue looking for ways to promote childcare with a global perspective, while fully coming face to face with such needs.

As nursery schools increase in the future, the nursery industry will enter the era of differentiation. In other words, it will be an era in which parents select among nursery schools, and it will become an important key that individual childcare providers possess a specialized expertise.Especially, the importance of English education has been increasing year by year, and there is an increasing demand from parents raising children to "adopt an English language education". Due to that type of background, we think that it is essential for children aged 0 to 3, who are our target group, to be familiar with a native level English environment from a young age.

We set up a corporation in the Philippines in 2018, and we hired local teachers engaged in early childhood education and dispatched them to Japan to improve the young students' English. The teachers who actually engage in the education of children are all capable people, who are graduate school graduates and are also all qualified teachers. This not only helps to solve the personnel shortage but is also one of the most important efforts in shaping the English-speaking environment for children.

We are planning to continue developing businesses with such global perspectives in the future and have focused on activities to incorporate good parts from overseas, such as by visiting China and Korea. The other day I met with a Korean national childcare provider and observed how they operate. In particular, Korean childcare businesses are more advanced than Japan's, not only in means of English education but also their facilities, and their well-prepared materials which are very clear and easy to understand. Because they have plenty of talented people, I feel that they are putting a great emphasis on early childhood education as a country. I think that it is necessary to continue to improve the quality of the whole nursery industry while continuing business development and gathering information from the overseas.

Recently, I feel that there are many people who agree with our ideas, and our company-led and licensed franchise deployments have been doing well. I hope to continue to respond to the various demands of childcare while keeping my focus on nationwide deployment. I like to challenge myself to new things, so I want to listen to the concerns and opinions of as many businesses and parties as possible. From there I will incorporate new discoveries and information to transform them into daily improvements and achievements, and I want to create an environment so that we can eliminate the wait list for nursery schools as much as possible, and an environment where parents feel completely safe entrusting their children with us.

In particular, Asian countries are vibrant, and I would like to develop a new business model based overseas. I am also planning to operate a facility that simultaneously solves not only the declining birthrate problem but also the aging problem, with a sort of combined elderly home and nursery school. If we can spread it around the world as a model case, it will lead to a big social contribution.

Business owners like us must have these types of "fun" or "volunteer spirit". In other words, this business cannot be done with a money-prioritizing or business-prioritizing mindset. That is why it is important that each and every staff has affection for the children, and that the staff can obtain satisfaction for pouring that type of affection. If we cannot the work itself, we cannot convey real joy and pleasure to children. Just as I myself like to take on new challenges, I would like to continue looking at the smile of children who challenge themselves to new things. For that purpose, I also hope to have a global perspective and have more fun than anybody else while tackling my business tasks.
